Etna Kontrabande is a band comprised of 7 musicians from the north of Poland playing rock-reggae-ska music. The group formed in summer 1999. So far, Etna has released 3 albums: ‘To Zion’ (2001), ‘Towards the Sun’ (2004), which was recorded together with a video clip, and ‘Political ganja’ (2007). Since it was formed, the group has received many awards and played over 600 concerts, both in Poland and abroad. Etna has taken part in many prestigious music festivals, such as United Islands of Prague(Czech Republic) Reggae Fest – Ostrava (Czech Republic), SazavaFest(Czech Republic), Africa is Hungry in Torun, Ostroda Reggae Fest, Reggaeland in Plock, Reggae on the Sands in Ostrow Wielkopolski, Reggae on the Warta River in Gorzow Wielkopolski, the Festival of Good Music in Warsaw, Preem Folk Fest in Krotoszyn, ‘Don’t kill’, “Slot art” Lubiaz, Wroclaw Non Stop, Reggalowisko in Bielawa, and many other. The band has recorded multimedia presentations for Polish TV Channel 1, Channel 2, Channel 3, Polsat, Polonia 1. Etna’s pulsating tracks were played on Polish Radio 1, 2, 3, Radio Bis, Radio Prague, Radio Plus, Radio Cracow and other.
In 2010 the band covered the song ''Just Like Heaven" by the Cure and shot a video clip for the single. In 2011 Etna released a maxi single which comprises new tracks, such as "Football Fire", "Gangster's Girl", as well as "Worth More", to which a music video was shot. Since the beginning of 2012 the band have been working on their new album. The music video for the new song "Blacklisted" premiered in October 2012.
